What's the bravest thing you've done recently?

The bravest thing I've done recently is to confront a "friend" about lies she's told about me and how I feel about our friendship. If you read my earlier blog post "To invite or not to invite?" you may remember the friend I'm referring to. For those that didn't or need a recap - here's a little back story:  In 2013 on of my former best friends asked if I'd be interested in temping at the bank she was temping at. I jumped at the opportunity and was very grateful. At the time I did not have a car and was working at a daycare making very little so I was unable to save the money I needed to purchase a new one. We lived within five minutes of each other so we would car pool. Her sister that also worked with us created a payment system -  at first the three of us car pooled with her sister driving, we would each give her $30 a week, then when she got a car of her own and it was just the two of us driving, I would pay her $35 a week for gas. I ...

A Beginner's Guide to Spinning

When I joined my gym, I was so excited that they had spinning classes. I've always wanted to try a spin class; it seemed like it would be fun. I was wrong! Spinning is not fun, it is hard, very very hard. It requires a lot of endurance. I'll be honest after my first few classes I gave up. I just couldn't keep up and I felt like I was dying. It wasn't enjoyable, it was pain and suffering while counting down the minutes on the clock. So I gave up. I moved on to other classes which I did enjoy. When I got back into my gym routine, I decided to give spinning another go. This time I was prepared. I had read up on some tips on how to get the best out of my spin class and feel great. I've managed to make going to spin class on Tuesdays at 6 AM a routine! I try to make it to the 6 AM Thursday class as well, but if I don't make it to that one every week I don't beat myself up over it. I've slowly been learning what works for me. I am now beginning to enjoy spin...

Finding the right vendors

When we started looking for vendors, I scoured the internet but mostly I was planning on relying o recommendations from friends. Turns out this wasn't as great a plan as it sounds. Although I was able to get some great recommendations, we kept thinking we could find a better price. We stayed diligent and were able to find great vendors at a fraction of the cost of what some others had paid. So the best advice I can give you is to keep looking until you find a great vendor at the right price. It may seem impossible but it's not! When it came to our photographer, I knew exactly who I wanted. This amazing photographer that is the sister-in-law of my Fiance's best man. I've had my heart set on them photographing my wedding since I met them and started following their page. I was warned that they were pricey, but when I inquired and found out just how pricey my mouth dropped. There was no way we could possibly afford them, their cheapest package started around $5,000. I ...

Deciding on the Perfect Honeymoon

Surprisingly picking a honeymoon destination is becoming harder than planning the actual wedding. My fiance and I have a few things we'd like to do, but agreeing on all of them is another. There are a few ideas that we both had that we already ruled out - Alaska and Europe because my future husband wants to relax not explore, and a train ride across the United States, a trip we want to take but I don't think is ideal for a honeymoon. We've settled on going to an Island, figuring out which is hard and what type of vacation is harder. Vin would like to go on a cruise. I would like to go to an all inclusive resort. He's been on a cruise before and said it's a lot of fun. I on the other hand have never been on a cruise, but I have gone to multiple all inclusive resorts - he's experienced both. His reason behind wanting to go on a cruise are: Cheaper - We've looked into a lot of options so far and it does seem that a cruise would definitely be cheaper espe...

PSA!

Something I'd like to share with everyone, in case you didn't know because you just never bothered to look into it like me - apparently FabFitFun does giveaways! I've been getting my boxes for almost a year now, and I've just noticed this now.... it's very unfortunate especially since this stuff is great. Their giveaways this season are ranging from $140 to $915, which doesn't include the trip giveaway.  I recently learned from my friend that I could customize my boxes - I know I'm terrible I really need to look into what I'm purchasing here because I'm missing out on perks. I'm sad I didn't pick out a couple of the things because I wish I could enter those giveaways. There's probably a good possibility that I could still, but when there's a hint that you should include the product of the brand doing the giveaways, it makes you feel like maybe you should skip that one. I'm excited! Let me just apologize now for my Instagram ...

No More Excuses

I was motivated, I was in a routine, I was eating right and hitting the gym, and then I stopped. What happened? I cut my thumb on my right hand which required me to get stitches - Ok, it sucked but did that mean I had to stop following my diet? No! Did I though? Of course. I was in pain and upset, and I used that as another excuse to stop eating right - really to eat whatever the hell I pleased (give me all the ice cream!!!). I also used it as an excuse not go get to the gym. When I first got hurt I was really upset that I couldn't go to my gym classes, especially my PunchHITT class which I loved. As I'm right handed, my finger was in a lot of pain even after the stitches were removed (you don't realize how much you use your thumb until something like this happens) so I still didn't go back. Then weeks and weeks went by and there I was not going to the gym, still not eating right. In four weeks I managed to completely ruin my routine. As time went on, my anxiety sta...
