Deciding on the Perfect Honeymoon

Surprisingly picking a honeymoon destination is becoming harder than planning the actual wedding. My fiance and I have a few things we'd like to do, but agreeing on all of them is another. There are a few ideas that we both had that we already ruled out - Alaska and Europe because my future husband wants to relax not explore, and a train ride across the United States, a trip we want to take but I don't think is ideal for a honeymoon. We've settled on going to an Island, figuring out which is hard and what type of vacation is harder.

Vin would like to go on a cruise. I would like to go to an all inclusive resort.

He's been on a cruise before and said it's a lot of fun. I on the other hand have never been on a cruise, but I have gone to multiple all inclusive resorts - he's experienced both. His reason behind wanting to go on a cruise are:

  • Cheaper - We've looked into a lot of options so far and it does seem that a cruise would definitely be cheaper especially if we don't have to purchase airfare. However, there were a few cruise lines we looked into which were not cheaper than some of the resorts we looked at such as Disney or Viking Cruises.
  • There's a lot to do on board the ship, including a casino. They're fun.
  • We can leave directly from New York
  • Able to visit multiple Islands. - This is the primary reason I would want to go on a cruise.

My reasons for not wanting to go on a Cruise:
  • I want to spend time on the island at the beach doing activities like snorkeling, paddle boarding, and kayaking at my leisure. With a cruise it appears that your time on the island is limited to about 8 hours.
  • I feel like there would be close quarters on a cruise, where as at an all inclusive we'd have a spacious room with plenty of resort to roam.
  • I've never been on a cruise, so I'm nervous about taking the first one for my honeymoon and disliking it. I'm also nervous about the possibility of getting sea sick.

I want to go to an all inclusive because I know what I'm getting, so does my fiance. I think what all inclusives have to offer is better. The biggest issue with deciding on an all inclusive if we choose this option is to go to and which island. Right now I'm eyeing St. Lucia.

I'm in search of advice here from my lovely readers. What's your opinion? Have you been on a cruise before? Would you choose going on a cruise over an all inclusive? Would you want to go on a cruise for your honeymoon? If you had to choose your favorite all inclusive, which would it be? What about islands? All suggestions welcome here people!

Thank you kindly!

Getting to the gym early.... Setting myself up for success

When I joined the gym, I knew I wanted to take classes in the morning before work. I alternate going in to work at 7:30 or 8:30 every week, so on days when I'm due in at 8:30 I thought it would be more productive to to the gym before work. I attempted this once or twice, but I failed. Well it's my 8:30 - 5 week, so I decided to give it another try. I'm naturally a morning person, but I definitely need my 8 hours of sleep. (I'm the type of person that sets one alarm and jumps out of bed as soon as it goes off.) Despite this, I was unable to get up for the gym at 5:30 when I first tried so I gave up. This weekend I was going over the class schedule and I decided I wanted to give it another go. The spin class I wanted to take was at 6, so I decided to set my alarm for 5:30. My plan was to be out of the house by 5:40, so that I could get to the gym with time to spare to put my stuff in a locker and go to the bathroom (once or twice; you'll come to realize I have th...

Orange Banana, Kale Smoothie Recipe

I've gotten back into the routine of starting my morning off right with a smoothie. My favorite breakfast smoothie is Orange Banana and Kale. It tastes delicious and gives me a good boost of energy for the day. Making smoothies also enables me to get more servings of fruits and veggies in, something that I struggle with. If you've never tried making a smoothie, or are afraid of the green like I once was; this one is a good place to start! I prefer smoothies over juicing because you get more fiber and it's more enjoyable to drink. I use my NutriBullet to make all my smoothies - I love it!  If you don't have a NutriBullet, you can use a blender to make your smoothie. Ingredients: 1 Orange  2 to 3 stalks of Kale. I don't include the full stem, just the top portion and leafy parts.  1 Banana - I wait for my bananas to get really ripe, then I slice them into 4's and place them in sandwich baggies in the freezer. You can always use a unfrozen bananas which I ...

The Meltdown - My Weight Loss Journey

I knew I weighed more than I wanted to and was a little overweight. But then I went to the doctors where I received a receipt with a warning about my BMI and the fact that I was overweight. It suggested I should start losing weight and even offered some tips. I was shocked and embarrassed. Even worse, I'm pretty positive that my fiance, then boyfriend, had definitely read it before me, because I hadn't looked at it right away. I can feel the blood rushing to my face now just thinking about it. I knew then that I had to do something, but did I? No of course not, like the procrastinator I am I pushed it off.  Then I got engaged... this is serious now, I must lose weight.  This bitch needs to move!  Currently I weigh 138 pounds. My goal is to lose 25 to 30 pounds by February 1, 2020 and then to maintain that weight until my wedding day on March 28, 2020.  I joined Crunch Fitness, and have already taken a few classes. I've also began to eat better. Since I've...
